Founded in 1970, Thermoplastics Co., Inc. has grown from a small backyard shop of two part-time workers to a 33,000 square foot facility with 20 employees engaged in selling the rebuilding of plastic processing equipment, the supply of machine parts, and service to the plastics industry.

Founder and company president, G. Peter Murphy, has been in the injection molding machinery business since 1960. He was initially a sub-contractor of Reed-Prentice, and then with Lombard Industries and the Farrel division of U.S.M. Corp. He was the Assembly Foreman and the Service Technician responsible for the care of Lombard/Farrel equipment throughout the world. Mr. Murphy has wide experience in the design of plastic injection molding machines and component parts, as well as the actual molding process.

The company's facility is centrally located in the Northeast, United States in the city of Worcester, Massachusetts.
